Grape Expectations
In a cool glade of green
a light southerly breeze
taunts then teases
budding spring leaves.
Dragonflies stare
like we really care
red cardinals pout
while intruders hang out.
Your luscious lips blush
with cute purple hues
as grape pursuits play
cheerfully on our palettes.
Pillowy clouds captivate
fierce dragons spit fire
pudgy piggies fly by
puppy dogs chase away time.
I’ve been hoping for
this love like ours
my whole life long
now so worth the wait.
May we sip our lifeblood
and savor the promise
of a deliciously bold
and most elegant finish.

Did you know that red wine is produced from grapes that are not only red but purple and blue as well? The many different varietals of red wine give it names like “dark red, light red, almost black, maroon, deep violet, and burgundy.
