Clear Sailing

Photo credit and much thanks to Tedy Tung

Clear Sailing

The sunny breezy ocean winds

raced playfully across the seas today.

And beckoned us to navigate,

to some perfect place without delay.

We charted the course, set our sails and

jaunting skillfully we cruised away.

And on this voyage that we’ve set about,

our hearts, with heated passion,

lovingly while away the day.

A note from Chris

This is one of my very first poems and I wrote it to be purposely playful.  I wanted to incorporate words into the work that would be very visual, and reflect the beauty and majesty of the ocean on a perfect sailing day.  The photo is used by the kind permission of Tedy Tung.  Please see more of his images at Tedy’s Flickr Photostream.

    raced”

    • Victoria, It is a life that we all long for so much of the time … for sure!! No worries, be happy! Thanks for your visit and kind words today.

  3. A lovely poem — of looking forward to the journey, feelings of peace, promise and hope. Enjoyed it.

  4. I love the idea of hearts lovingly whiling away the day. Hearts are usually a bit anguished or fluttering–nice to have a more steady experience described! K.

    • Karin, thanks for visiting with me (I am a blogging newbie!) I look forward to spending some time on your site as well! and yes…”steady” is always comforting! I do live for the “fluttering” aspects of romance too!
